Adult Fitness & Sport Conditioning

At Twist Conditioning, everyone’s an athlete. Twist’s adult fitness programs will bring out the athlete in you, helping you enjoy life pain-free. Our functional fitness program will make you functionally fit for sport and everyday activities. Each adult group session is 1 hour and 15 minutes in length and participants can choose to train 1, 2, 3 or 4 sessions per week. Participants can mix and match different programs, however you must choose a specific program date and time. See schedule below for session dates and times.

Adult Functional Fitness AFF

The Adult Functional Fitness (AFF) program is guaranteed to make your body more fit and functional, and bring your athleticism to new heights. AFF is a group (non-choreographed) training program that integrates balance, full body strength, core strength, stability, agility, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, flexibility, and more. This 1 hour and 15 minute workout will increase your fitness level, meet your athletic goals, and develop your body to meet the demands of life and sport. Adult athletes have the option to train 1, 2, 3 or 4 times per week, but the most effective adult programs consist of 3+ AFF classes per week.  In addition, a professional sport conditioning coach will prescribe classes that complement the AFF program in order to redefine your athleticism.

Adult Hockey Conditioning (Dryland) AHC

Train like the Pro’s. For all of those recreational hockey players who are looking like to improve their game, this is the program for you. Our hockey-specific dryland program will focus on making you a better skater, shooter, and checker with specialized drills that focus on linked strength, rotary power, first step quickness, stride power, skating balance, and skating speed. Train once a week and feel the difference on the ice.

ENERGY SYSTEM DEVELOPMENTESD

This program, formerly named Anaerobic Sport Conditioning, complements and parallels the energy system periodization in your AFF program.  It will shape and redefine your aerobic and anaerobic energy systems and redefine your body composition.  This class will consist of multi-directional movement training, sprint training, spin intervals and more! The ESD program suits all adult athletes who require increased endurance and energy in their sport and life!

ATHLETIC CORE DEVELOPMENTACD

This program, formerly named Sport Core Strength, complements and parallels the core development in your AFF program. In sport and fitness, you are only as strong as your weakest link; for most athletes this is the core, which includes the abdominals, low back, and hip musculature. You need to build strength from the centre of the body out. ACD focuses on developing stability, strength, endurance and rotational power in the abs, hips, lower back and glutes with challenging and dynamic drills. Train from the inside out in this low impact workout that builds full-body functional strength.

 

Twist Functional breakfast, BRUNCH OR LUNCHTFl /TFB

The functional lunch, brunch and/or breakfast is the perfect opportunity to get your workout in on your lunch break or before going into work. This high intensity workout will be completed in 45 minutes. You will be in and out of the training centre in 45 minutes after an amazing balance, strength, core and aerobic conditioning workout. Go back to work or home with more energy. Showers and change rooms are available at the SCC.

SPORT MOBILITY & REGENERATIONSMR

This program, formerly named R&R, complements and parallels the mobility and regeneration training in your AFF program. 5-10 minutes of stretching after your workout or game is just not enough. Experience a new freedom in your movement by releasing tension in muscles, constriction in joints, and adhesions in fascia. This newprogram features systematic self-myofascial release techniques, Trigger Point Performance Therapy, self-massage methods, dynamic flexibility training and stability/mobility proprioceptive control training. These sessions will not only help your body recover, they will increase your functional range of motion, improve muscle pliability, decrease muscle soreness and enhance your body’s flexibility and mobility. WEST COAST OUTDOOR CONDITIONINGwCO

The WCO program will give you full-body strength and conditioning, with a focus on increasing your aerobic and anaerobic energy systems. These classes will use some of Twist's top conditioning drills and tools in an outdoor training environment. Increase your cardiovascular capacity by elevating your V02 max with our WCO/ESD combo class.

Combine 360 testing

Developed by IMG Academies in partnership with Under Armour and Twist Sport Conditioning, Combine360 assessments focus on 3 primary elements of performance; Athleticism, Movement and Character. Within each element is a battery of tests designed around sub-disciplines of each element including athletic ability, functionality, sport-specific skills, vision, mental aptitude, nutrition and character. The result is the most thorough and comprehensiveevaluation system available.

Train with your co-workers in a private corporate training group. Take time out of your busy work day once or twice a week and enjoy an experience that not only improves your fitness, but helps build staff camaraderie and friendships through fun and challenging sport conditioning drills and exercises.
