What is the name of the new Twist Certification?
Twist Certified Sport Conditioning Coach (TSCC) designation, formerly the Can-Fit-Pro/Twist Sport Conditioning Specialist Certification (SCS).

Why does the new name include the word Coach?
The role of the Conditioning Coach has matured significantly in North America. Twist Educated Professionals who were previously working exclusively in the Fitness industry are now integrated into sport, offering consulting and conditioning services to various teams of all ages and abilities. The practical exercises in the certification require a critical eye for mechanics and techniques similar to the approach a sport coach would require when analyzing a sport specific skill. Sport Conditioning Coaches work closely with head and assistant coaches in organizing and running practices. They are now considered an essential component of the coaching team.

When does this new program take effect?
On April 1st, 2008, Twist Conditioning will be launching the Twist Sport Conditioning Coach Certification program (TSCC) that will promote certified individuals for work in both the Fitness and Sport industries with a professional designation. The certification distribution agreement between Twist Conditioning and Can-Fit-Pro will end on March 31st, 2008 with the Sport Conditioning Specialist (SCS) program no longer being available.

Will the fees for taking the courses remain the same?
The new TSCC Structure will enable easier access to Twist Education at a more affordable cost. Financial savings are available by:

  • registering as part of a group,
  • taking advantage of cost savings based on the time of your registration,
  • registering for several courses at the same time
  • your ability to take any Level 1 course with no exam fee (no desire to be certified)
Do I need a membership to take a Twist Sport Conditioning Coach certification course?
No. Membership is not required but candidates will still receive Twist course benefits such as access to insurance, discounts on product purchases etc. If you have taken the SCS program in the past and did not purchase the membership, or if your membership is about to or has recently expired, Twist will transfer your SCS credentials into our new TSCC program on April 1st, 2008. If you hold a fitness certification with Can-Fit-Pro other than the retired SCS program, you will need your membership to maintain those fitness credentials.

Will the delivery of the certification courses be similar?
Content of the certification program has always been Twist content that is upgraded on a regular basis with industry changes. All components of the courses (manual, PowerPoint presentation) will have new upgraded packaging. The major upgrades will be in administration. With Twist Coaches and Educators taking registration and answering questions, you will receive knowledgeable and consistent information on the programs, prompt replies, and consistent service that you have come to expect and should expect when dealing with Twist Conditioning.

Do I have to renew annually?
No. A 2 year renewal period will be implemented to make it easier on you as the registrant to obtain quality CEC’s over a 2 year period. We want you to have the time to obtain CEC’s from Twist Conditioning and other quality sources rather then having to rush last minute every year to get what ever is possible. It will be the responsibility of the Twist Certified Sport Conditioning Coach to track CEC’s and submit them electronically on the same renewal date every 2 years.

How do I obtain CEC’s ?
Combination of Twist Education and other sources. We encourage you to round out your continuing education by attending live events, taking home studies, and learning from other sources in addition to Twist.

Will I need a CPR certification?
We strongly recommend that as a professional you obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification. However we do not require it as prerequisite for our courses or certifications.

How do I switch my current SCS certification to become a Twist Certified Sport Conditioning Coach (TSCC)?
Unless we hear from you otherwise, you will be switched over automatically on April 1st, 2008.

Will the new TSCC Certifications Follow the same or similar format?
Yes, the certification program will still contain Sport Movement Level 1 & 2, Sport Balance Level 1, and Sport Strength Level 1 & 2
