The TSCC certification program is composed of Sport Movement, Strength and Balance. The Chart Below summarizes the Twist Sport Conditioning Coach certification program:

SPORT STRENGTH
During this two level module you will learn effective methods for improving an athlete’s ability to transfer force from the legs through the core to the upper body. Throughout the two levels you will learn our Linked System™ approach to strength training which includes content to increase an athlete’s muscle hypertrophy, strength, multi joint power, rotary power and segmental plyometrics through innovative multi-planer exercises. Learn a cutting edge approach to developing a functional body that better expresses and integrates strength for life and sport, and enhances reactivity for muscle and joint durability. An energizing training method for athletes and fitness clientele using strength, resistance and portable training tools.
Level 1 (SS1) – 8 hours
Level 2 (SS2) – 8 hours


SPORT MOVEMENT
Optimal performance is dependent on effective and efficient movement. Techniques to improve speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ) will be covered in this comprehensive 2 level module. Learn advanced techniques to progress your athlete to the next level through our functional readiness assessment protocols, dynamic warm up, balance and equilibrium, nervous system activation, multidirectional movement mechanics, deceleration as well as speed, agility, and quickness presented to you in a scientific and practical format suitable for athlete training, teams, PE curriculum, functional training and post injury return to action. Guaranteed to increase an athlete’s performance.
Level 1 (SM1) – 8 hours
Level 2 (SM2) – 8 hours


SPORT BALANCE
Game breaking plays are the result of power initiated from the perfect moment of transitional balance. To maximize the benefits of balance training, this 2 level module capitalizes on quantifying a new training variable known as neural complexity to provide level appropriate and progressive exercises that will effectively improve proprioception, stability and muscular coordination. Athletes of all levels and abilities will enhance movement skill, reduce the incidence of injury, improve joint stability and increase power initiation through well designed balance training programming. Exercises and assessments for static, dynamic, and “act and react” balance challenge concepts will be taught with direct application in sport, fitness and rehabilitation.
Level 1 (SB1) – 8 hours

TSCC LEVEL 3
The purpose of this advanced level of sport conditioning coaching development is to provide athletes with the necessary methodology to progress through high performance sport and onto the podium of sport success. Coaches who train athletes at the elite level need a diverse tool box of skills and abilities ranging from complex theoretical concepts to advanced practical drills. The Level 3 program integrates the methodologies developed in the sport movement, sport strength and sport balance curriculum to provide a more global approach to coaching athletes to success. In this 2 day, in-depth training experience, coaches learn purposeful workout design, strategic planning skills for short and long term athlete development using periodization, error detection and correction with athlete centered cueing, concepts for recovery and regeneration as well as the basics for sport specific training plans. The practical program will focus on linking skills and drills together into training plans by carefully considering sport and athlete needs and abilities to design innovative workouts that impact short and long term athlete success.

Exam Format and Content

Course Attendance Pre-requisites
Twist Conditioning promotes the TSCC Level 1 sport conditioning courses to all of the following potential candidates:

  • certified fitness professionals (personal trainer, group fitness instructor)
  • NCCP certified sport coaches (all sports)
  • elementary and secondary school teachers / coaches
  • university / college professors / coaches
  • allied health practitioners (athletic therapy, massage, physiotherapy, kinesiologist, chiropractor)
  • emergency services professionals (police, fire, military)

Candidates may attend any of the TSCC Level 1 courses for interest only and are not obligated to complete the online exam unless they wish to attain the TSCC certification designation.


Recommendations:

  • Participants acknowledge that an understanding of basic human kinetics is an asset to fully utilizing the concepts and methodologies presented in the Twist Sport Conditioning Coach Level 1 courses.
  • Participants who do not have formal education or certification in the area of human kinetics can best prepare for the live Sport Conditioning Coach courses through the purchase and complete the Twist DVD based Sport Conditioning home study program available through Twist Conditioning.
  • Previous or current sport experience is an asset
  • Participants possess a general level of fitness, good health and are injury free
  • Experience coaching athletes is an asset

Level 2
courses Twist Conditioning requires that participants have completed the Level 1 TSCC course prior to attending the corresponding Level 2 course.

Level 3
Attendance at the TSCC Level 3 course is limited to Level 2 certified Twist Sport Conditioning Coaches. Pre-requisite TSCC-L2
