Moon your Boss, Get Fired. Moon at the Podium, Get DQed

I read the article on Mooning your boss may mean a quick trip to unemployment… just ask one former Bank of America employee.

Jason Selch reportedly dropped his pants after he heard the news of his company ‘s merger with a Bank of America subsidiary. Enraged, he stormed into a conference room and, after establishing he didn’t have a non-compete clause, mooned two stunned company executives. While his supervisor would have kept him on with a warning, Bank of America CEO Keith Banks reportedly insisted on firing Mr. Selch for his ”egregious” behaviour.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

Steeplechaser Daniel Blouin

There was a funny story of Quebec’s Daniel Blouin at the 2001 Canada Summer Games who finished 3rd in the 3000 meter steeplechase.

In the excitement, after receiving his bronze medal, Blouin pulled a “mooner” to the crowd and was immediately disqualified from the bronze medal and was sent home immediately.

Geez, at least raising your fist on the podium gets you sent home… or chit-chatting on the podium, you still get to keep your medal.

But at the end, the 4th place finisher gave the bronze medal back to Blouin anyways.  (just like Shawn Crawford giving his medal to Churandy Martina back in Beijing 2008)

And who was that 4th place Steeplechase finisher gave the bronze medal back to Blouin?

Canada’s 2012 Olympic marathoner Reid Coolsaet!  His coach is Dave Scott-Thomas, and I’ll be interviewing him later this month.   We have a lot of stories to share from London 2012!  (good and bad)
