Amanda Eydt

Director of Live Certifications & Master Trainer Development
After being a TWIST athlete for almost 5 years, Amanda joined the TWIST team as part-time Client Experience Specialist in 2009.  Amanda studied sciences at UBC & obtained a Masters Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University.  She comes to the team with 10 years experience at TELUS where she was a Project Manager & worked at a management level in Consumer Marketing, Technology, and Consumer & Business Sales.  When not at work, you can find Amanda playing women’s hockey or hitting the slopes as an avid down hill skier & snowboarder.

Brynne Elliott  

Brynne Elliott, BKin, MSc. TSCC-GOLD

Manager Continuing Education

Brynne completed her degree in Kinesiology from the University College of the Fraser Valley and completed her Masters of Science at the University of British Columbia, where she studied the neurophysiology behind balance training. Growing up Brynne was a competitive swimmer, and continues to swim in a local masters program. Brynne enjoys all of what the west coast has to offer by using her spare time to go snowboarding, hiking, and running.

 

Chris Romaniw

Sport Conditioning Coach

Originally from Hamilton, Ontario, Chris competed in soccer, hockey and football at high levels, but his focus was middle-distance track. His best result was winning the Southern Ontario 800m championship in 2006. Chris competed in track and field, as well as cross country, at UBC, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics. Chris has worked with athletes of all ages and skill levels and has experience in active rehabilitation, helping injured athletes return to their active lifestyles faster and safer. When not at Twist in North Vancouver, Chris is most likely in the middle of a flag football or baseball game, or out running the trails.

Dean Shiels

Vice President - Athlete Training & Franchise

Dean overseas the Twist Athlete Conditioning Operations and manages the flagship Twist Centre in North Vancouver, BC. Dean earned his bachelors degree in Human Kinetics and his Masters of Business Administration at the University of British Columbia. Coach Shiels played three years of CIS Varsity Hockey where he was an Academic All-Canadian Defenceman. Dean has been coaching athletes for over 10 years. Dean can often be found on the training floor working with youth and adult athletes from a variety of sports and levels to professional athletes from the NHL and MLB. He enjoys the summers in B.C. by hiking, camping, golfing, boating, and wakeboarding. In the winter, Dean stays active by playing hockey.

Haleigh Callison

 

Haleigh Callison, B.HKin, CSCS, TSCC - GOLD

Sport Conditioning Coach & Camp Administrator

Haleigh graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Human Kinetics Degree while playing 5 years of Varsity Hockey as a proud Thunderbird. As a high performance athlete, she trained at Twist and completed her first year of professional hockey in the 08/09 season in Berlin, Germany. Haleigh is originally from Smithers, BC where she grew up with her three older brothers.

Janice Hutton  

Janice Hutton, B.PE, B.Ed. MA PE, TSCC-GOLD

Education Manager

Janice is the co-author of accredited home study programs and developer of Twist International sport conditioning education events. With over 25 years of diverse experience in fitness and sport, she works as a consultant, personal trainer, fitness instructor, sport conditioning coach, author, and presenter at conferences across North America. She is also a member of the BOSU International presenting team. Janice grew up as national level competitive swimmer, and enjoyed success as a professional swim coach at 4 Canadian universities working with national and international class swimmers. A proud mother of 2 active boys, Janice dedicates extra time to community and school sports development.

Vice President - Marketing & Sales

With a degree in Psychology and Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University, Julie has over 18 years of experience in the Fitness Industry as a personal trainer, with a focus in Retail and Commercial Product Sales and Marketing. Overseeing a team of 6 Product Division Reps and Customer Service Specialists, Julie enjoys bringing the most innovative products and tools in fitness and sport performance to our Professional, Commercial and Consumer customers across Canada and around the world.  As an active Mom of 2 young girls, Julie seldom misses the time for a workout and looks forward to hitting the trails in the North Shore Mountains.

 

 

Kelly Bigelow, BHK, BA, CSEP-CEP

Sport Conditioning Coach & Education Associate

Kelly completed his Bachelors degree in Arts in 2004 with a focus in Psychology and then completed his Bachelors degree in Human Kinetics (Kinesiology and Health Sciences) in 2007, both from the University of British Columbia. Kelly’s background is in the sport of hockey where he has not only a great love for the game but also a great passion to help others in the sport. He has worked with people of all ages in various sports and fitness settings. Kelly also enjoys baseball and curling and loves to get outside in the summer to go camping, hiking or golfing.

 

Kyle Guay  

Kyle Guay, B.Kin, TSCC-GOLD, CSCS

Director of Athlete Training Services

Born and raised on the North Shore of Vancouver, Kyle completed his Bachelors of Human Kinetics at UBC. Kyle spent his youth playing AAA hockey and elite level soccer he made the switch to a national level mountain bike racer after graduating high school. Kyle is a strong member to the Twist team by leading our Sport Conditioning Centre and being a Senior Twist Master Trainer presenting Nationally and Internationally.

 

 

Lisa Lagerway

Client Experience Specialist

Having been a fitness enthusiast for over two decades, Lisa joined the TWIST team as a part-time Client Experience Specialist in 2010.  Lisa has a background in business and has studied Business Administration at Camosun College in Victoria.  She comes to the team with extensive administrative experience and a passion for fitness and health.  When not at work, Lisa is an enthusiastic mountain-biker, hiker, runner and busy mom of two young boys.

Peter Twist

 

 

Peter Twist BPE, MPE. TSCC-GOLD, CSCS

President & CEO

Coach Twist coached in the National Hockey League for 11 years and is currently a consultant for several NHL players and agents. An exercise physiologist with a M.Sc and a specialization in Coaching Science, Twist has published over 400 papers, authored 10 books and 19 DVD’s on athlete development, while coaching over 700 professional athletes including league MVP’s Mark Messier (hockey), Justin Morneau (baseball) and Hakeem Olajuwon (basketball). A headline presenter at all major international sport and fitness conferences, including IDEA, NSCA, MultiTrax, FitPro, CanFitPro, ECA and the Australian Fitness Network, Peter was honored with the National Strength & Conditioning Association's 1998 Presidents Award and Can-Fit-Pro 2003 Specialty Presenter of the Year Award.

 

Sharon Ross

Client Exeprience Specialist

Sharon has been a dedicated Twist athlete for over five years and joined them in 2012 as a Client Experience Specialist.  She is currently a student at UBC and has previously studied at Capilano University.  In her spare time, Sharon plays elite level ice hockey and is an avid snowboarder.  Sharon has lived on the North Shore her whole life and loves taking advantage of the outdoors, going for long hikes and runs in the trails!

Tatiana Brossoit

Education Operations and Tradeshow Manager

Tatiana was born in Port Alberni (Vancouver Island), BC and has spent the majority of her life training and dancing professionally. She began dancing at the young age of 2, and continued her passion for dancing right up to dancing professionally and being offered scholarships to dance in New York. Her passion for dance has brought her many opportunities including performing in musicals and many shows. Tatiana has taken a break from dancing to join our team at Twist Sport Conditioning (TSC) as the Education Operations and Tradeshow Manager, aswell aids in graphic design and marketing projects for TSC. Tatiana enjoys graphic design, and many summer leisure water sports- such as surfing, paddle boarding, tubing, kayaking and wakeboarding. Aside from the many summer sports and dancing that Tatiana participates in, she is also a HUGE hockey fan- never missing a game,and is either at the game or watching it on TV.

 

 

 

Teri Lacelle

CE Manager & Franchise Support

Teri joined the Twist team shortly after her move from Ottawa, where she completed her BAh at Carleton University in 2008. With over 7 years experience in the fitness industry, Teri decided to explore Canada on a bicycle and pedaled from coast to coast in 2009 - ultimately choosing Vancouver as her new home. She has since cycled across Alaska and plans to pedal her way down the west coast sometime in the future. She is a marathon runner and a die hard hockey fan! Outside of Twist, Teri can be found playing in several soccer, volleyball and softball leagues.

 

 

Tyler Hutton, BSc Kin, TSCC-Silver

Sport Conditioning Coach

Tyler completed his Bachelor of Science degree with distinction at the University of Victoria, where he majored in Kinesiology. He grew up in Kelowna as a multi-sport star athlete, participating in soccer, baseball and basketball while acquiring a passion for sport conditioning. With several years of experience in both personal training and exercise rehabilitation, Tyler joined the Twist team in 2010. He enjoys the outdoors and spends his weekends hiking, camping and playing drums. When not at work, Tyler is found playing with his popular band The Pit at local venues on the North shore, Burnaby and downtown.

Greg is a university professor at the University of the Fraser Valley, and active writer and researcher for the Twist Smart Muscle paradigm and education products.
